Training

I will be posting about my training progress here. Please check on me... accountability will help me stick to it! I learned from last year to buy my shoes earlier and train a lot more... so I will share my attempts at preparing for this event here!

It is finally not raining!! I had hoped to start training last week but it was just nasty out... which I suppose I should train in as well just in case the weekend of the event is rainy... but I think I'd rather just deal with that when I get there, lol. So today I will talk the kids into taking a walk around the neighborhood with me. It will be slower and shorter than a typical training walk should be, but I think it's a good way to ease into it! A training amble around the block, haha!

Well I haven't been very good at updating this... but here's what's been going on..! I have been taking occasional walks, usually 2-3 miles. Not nearly frequently enough, however... so now it's time to kick it up a notch! So here's my schedule I have devised for myself. These daily workouts are only meant to be 30 minutes and are in addition to my recommended workouts sent out by my Susan G. Komen "virtual personal trainer". I get an e-mail each week with training walks and will post them as I get them.
Monday-Arms
Tuesday- Back
Wednesday- Abs
Thursday - Legs
Friday- Cardio
Saturday- Yoga
Sunday- Cardio
This week's virtual personal trainer schedule is Monday- rest, Tuesday- 3 miles easy walking, Wednesday- rest, Thursday- 4 miles moderate walking, Friday- 30 minutes easy cross training, Saturday- 5 miles easy walking, Sunday-3 miles easy walking
So... today being Tuesday I am supposed to do 30 minutes of back exercises and 3 miles easy walking. The walk will have to happen after I get the kids into bed, and back exercises I have to skip since I have been having serious back pains the past 2 days. I'll do some stretching though, and maybe some easy yoga.

walked 3.11 miles, average pace of 18 min/mile, burned 331 calories (woohoo!) It's HOT outside..!! Will do abs before bed.
