So the first fundraiser of the event wasn't the huge success that last year's was, but it wasn't bad either! Raised $135 just from people walking in the door, and still have yet to find out how we did with the Tastefully Simple part of the event. But almost everyone bought stuff, so yay!! A few more days to go for that party and we will have that total to report!

Online check-in complete!!
I am officially checked in! Now I need to raise $1,718 more to reach the minimum fund raising level, and much more than that to reach my personal goal!! So please help me out :)
First Fundraiser
I had my first fundraiser on Saturday, we had a wine tasting and a Tastefully Simple party rolled into one! The cost to attend was $15 and Tracy (my Tastefully Simple rep) is donating 25% of her sales from my party to my fund raising efforts! We had 9 people show up which totals $135 raised in tasting fees, and Tracy is holding the party open for more orders so when she closes that out I will have the information on how much we raised that way.
Several more fundraisers coming up!!
-Tapas for Tatas: I will be teaming up with a friend who is a chef and hosting a small tapas party at my home as a fundraiser! I hope to pair up with a wine rep to bring some good spanish wines to complement the dishes we will be having. Cost of this has yet to be determined, it will depend on how expensive it is to throw it... Date TBA
-Wine Tasting for the Cure round 2: There will be another wine tasting held at Kingfisher Wine Shop on October 8th, with more wonderful wine and food to enjoy! Price will be the same for entrance to the event, $15.
-Stevie B's Pizza Dinner: The Stevie B's restaurant on Rte 92 will be the location for another fund raising event! They will donate a portion of all sales during my fundraiser (both from food and from tokens) to my fund raising. All people have to do is mention my event when they pay! Date and time for this will be coming shortly!
-Santa's Workshop event: Just in time for Christmas we will be having a one-stop-shop type of sale! I will be inviting all sorts of vendors, they will all make a donation for the purpose of renting table space, and will all donate one item for a raffle. Raffle tickets will be $2 each or 3/$5 and mystery items will be raffled off toward the end of the event. Vendors may also donate a portion of their profits if they so choose at the end of the event, but do not have to.
-I have also discussed a fundraiser at a lingerie shop and a yoga studio, there are lots of fun things on the horizon! Please try to attend one!!

I have developed a schedule for myself which is strictly for exercise. I am not going to keep trying these ridiculous diets because they are impossible to follow when I have 3 kids I am shuttling all over creation (4 this summer..!) so I am just going to try to make healthy choices and get plenty of exercise and hopefully I'll be able to lose some weight as I get in shape for the walk! Anyway the schedule will be on my training page for my reference and yours, and will include the recommended workouts that Susan G. Komen sends me.

Finally getting going on my training
I have decided that as a part of my training I am going to knock off some of this weight :) I am going to do this by testing out those crazy diet claims made on womens magazines. I am tracking it for all the world to hold me accountable here http://try-itdiet.blogspot.com/ Please check up on me! Call me out on it if I slack off, and if you have suggestions for ones you want to see tested out let me know :)

Event today and tomorrow (not for me, but looks like fun!!)
I am going to be attending an event at Town Center Mall today that looks great!! It is being hosted by some great people (some of whom I hope to team up with in the future for more fundraising events..!) Here is the blurb they wrote up about it:
Come see the pink Firetruck, Police Cruiser and Ambulance and help us win the fight against cancer. Enjoy entertainment (all day both days), face painting and other activities. The Guardians of the Ribbon - SE GA Chapter will be bringing their pink firetruck and police cruiser for people to sign. All proceeds raised will go toward Team PINK-Komen Atlanta 5k. For more information, follow/visit the "Town Center Goes PINK" FB page.
It's a different team, and event, than I am participating in, but I hope local people can go and show them support!!

Donations have started coming in!
I've gotten my first donations!! Raised $265 already! I am thrilled with the generosity of my friends and family :) Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! I hope this is just the beginning of a great fundraising season! Please remember to keep your eye out for my events, I will not be bombarding everyone with invitations to everything this year, I felt very annoying last summer..! And spread the word!!! The events are only as fun as the people who come to them :)
